Oh Little Town of Bethlehem

Dear Jeff:

As I am residing in the same federal riding of Calgary-Centre as Premier Alison Redford with family IV a few days, I just thought I'd wish you, her, & politicians & their family's of every stripe a Merry Christmas Season & all the best as we enter MMXIII.

Christmas Eve always fascinates me. Students of the Christian faith have to realize that its quite an interesting day, just as interesting as Christmas Day itself. For instance:

1. Some students & their family's open their Christmas gifts only on Christmas Eve, while some restrict it to just Christmas Day, while some do some on each day.

2. Some students & their family's go to church services on Christmas Eve, particularly ones held later in the evening by candlelight. Still others head there on Christmas morning.

3. Many family's have their main meal on Christmas Eve, while some prefer to eat exclusively on Christmas Day itself.

4. Students have to realize that the main dish for family's is turkey with all of the trimmings, just like Thanksgiving. last year up in Edmonton I had roast beef. Still other friends of mine ate Chinese food. Its not the food that makes Christmas, its the sense of family & belonging.

Born In A Manger,

Rory
