Almost two months ago, the word had gone around among the teenagers in the neighborhood that marijuana, along with other stimulating drugs, was to be had easily and in quantity enough for anybody who wanted them. Word was passed around that it the new thing to do, the smart thing to do if you wanted to keep up with the crowd."
