July XXVIth, MMXIV
Hon. Jeff Johnson, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O
Dear Jeff:
The founder of the University Of Virginia, President Thomas Jefferson talks about a people needing education in order to make the country stronger in mind, body, & spirit. As a lawyer by training, President Jefferson knew the value his legal skills gave him in the great offices he held, as well as in the legal work he did as a private lawyer & as President in things like drafting policy.
"An enlightened citizenry is indispensable for the proper function of a republic. Self-government is not possible unless the citizens are educated sufficiently enough to enable them to exercise oversight. It is therefore imperative that the nation see to it that a suitable education be provided for all its citizens."

Rory
