"A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand!"-Ms. Schakowsky

March XXVIIIth, MMXVI

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Out stumping on the campaign trail for her own reelection & those of other Democratic candidates this Easter Monday is Illinois Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky. Jan gives a group of political science students a set of remarks on campaign politics. Having run VI (6) times myself (VI times too many I'll add), I know her feelings are very accurate indeed.

"The saying goes that politics is the art of addition. Even first time candidates for any elected office quickly realize that their circle of friends & family is not enough, that they need the support of people unlike themselves if they are to have any hope of winning. It's elemental."

Chicago,

Rory
