Gubernatorial Safety

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 15902-100A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

April XVIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

I am awfully glad that Governor Josh Shapiro, Democratic-Pennsylvania & his family escaped personal injury or worse in the attack on the Governors Mansion in the State Capitol of Harrisburg. Sounds like the State Troopers & Gubernatorial Security detail failed exponentially to miss this crazy arsonist in his demented attack on the "State People's Home." Whether in an election scenario such as we have here in Canada now, or in regular times, public officials must be kept safe 24/7 in the interest of good governance & keeping the economy rolling. What I cannot get over is that certified nutcase Hon. Steven Guibeault, B. A., PC, Minster Of Parks & Canadian Culture & Identity, Liberal Candidate, Laurier-Ste. Marie who attacked & caused damage to then Alberta Premier Ralph Klein's home & caused damage scaring his good wife, Mrs. Colleen Klein who was home alone is allowed to be a candidate again. Let alone an MP & Cabinet Minister. It just shows the shadiness of Prime Minister Carney who forced Hon. Randy Boissonnault, B. A., P. C., Liberal Former Candidate, Edmonton-Centre out for a lot less.

The Dionne Quintuplets,

Rory

P. S.: Lucky for us the Rt. Jean Chretien, PC has Aline's stone carving for head strikes & his hand for choking intruders on standby!

The Importance Of The Campaign Spouse

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 15902-100A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

April XVth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

With the recent passing of Former Massachusetts Ist Lady Kitty Dukakis, Democratic, wife of Former Massachusetts Governor Michael S. Dukakis, Democratic. It should be noted just how important the spouse/partner of the the candidates are on the trail, & in whether they govern if they win, or serve in opposition, & even when they retire. Gov. Dukakis was of course the MCMLXXXVIII Democratic Presidential Candidate Vice-President George H. W. Bush, Republican-Texas (although like Mike & Kitty, born in Massachusetts) & George had Barbara P. Bush, Republican-Texas (although born in New York) to rely on.

Kitty, like Mrs. Betty Ford, Republican-Michigan (although born in Illinois) had alcoholic & substance abuse addictions. But both women overcame these addictions & were strong in their support for their husbands, both on & off the campaign trail. Just as Mrs. Anaida Poilievre, Conservative-Ontario (although born in Venezuela) & Mrs. Debra F. Carney, Liberal-Ontario (although born in the United Kingdom) have been for their husbands. Mrs. Ford with the encouragement of her good husband, President Gerald R. Ford, Republican-Michigan (although born in Nebraska) opened "The Betty Ford Center" to help people get off of alcohol & other addictive substances, a noble endeavour. Kitty Dukakis was even put on a Committee by her husband's opponent to help people to stay safe & sober/clear-headed, truly amazing candidate spouses are indeed!

April XIVth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

I applaud the City of Montreal for hosting not just the Anglais et French Leaders Debates for this federal election, but for also hosting the deux Liberal Leadership Debats. It shows that in order to showcase all of Canada, the English & the Francais, & everything in between, we must have events in "la belle province" to show the Dominion/le Dominion is truly united!

The Candidate Of The Trudeau-Notley-Singh-Carney Liberal-NDP-Liberal Coalition

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 15902-100A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

April XIIIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

Congrats to the Federal Liberals & their Alberta Candidate vetting operative Mr. W. Wade Izzard. Their new Calgary-Confederation Candidate Corey Hogan is ideal for keeping energy projects dead as part of a Carney Liberal cabinet. Corey is so committed to the Liberal-NDP-Liberal Coalition, he switched from the Alberta Liberals over to the Alberta New Democrats, only to bide his time & wait for a Federal Grit nomination in doing a podcast & such. I remember a time when Corey stood alone with his cat in the Alberta Liberal offices, the two of them sleeping their for three nights around the clock together in Edmonton's Alberta Liberal Party offices because the mice were fleeing the Alberta Liberals & Corey, loyal to the end was seeing how many of them would come join him with the Alberta New Democratic Party & Premier Notley. Using Alberta Liberal resources on top of it all to do it. Yes indeed Corey Hogan, a very cagey (sneaky) politician indeed!

Rory

"To Debate Or Not To Debate": That Is The Question!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 15902-100A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

April XIIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

I am not sure why Edmonton-Centre Conservative Candidate Sayid Ahmed is getting such flak for not participating in a debate. It is of course a good idea to do so, but it is his & his campaign's choice whether to do do. Intrepid Reporter for The Edmonton Journal (who I find to be a very high quality person) Mr. Steven Sandor is pointing this out. I'd like to point out to Steve that in the past when I ran to replace Amarjeet Sohi for City Council, I was outside a debate hall & told I could go in as an "alternate" candidate if an invited candidate didn't show up. Three did not, I walked in escorted by their security & was forcefully shoved out by other security, right back into my car. Again I had the "alternate" invite, was approved to enter & tossed without explanation. This doesn't exactly make me want to debate.

Steve has to understand it works both ways. Another time when I ran in the race to replace Amarjeet, I wasn't invited to the Millwoods EPL community gathering room until the last day so I wasn't put in the system. I will chalk it up to an administrative error as there there were what 32 candidates running, but only 18 showed up. I was the last there & arrived late, I went back down to my car to gather my election brochures & 2 of my tires were slashed & so obviously couldn't debate that night. For the final debate in that campaign, I arranged for all the candidates & audience to bring Edmonton Food Bank donations. Though 22 of my competitors agreed to contribute, only 2 besides me did. There was no sense of community & caring at that debate. It should also be noted that 4 other debates were held & I was the only candidate not invited.

When I ran in Edmonton-Centre provincially (as an Independent Candidate) in MMXV, St. Joseph's Catholic High School invited all the other candidates & told me in a typed letter later that they had purposely left me off at someone's request. I wasn't told by who, but that seems to be "gaming the debate system" in favor of certain candidates. Again, I don't even know anyone at the school, I still don't. I showed up when told of the debate & was allowed 5 minutes to speak. But I wasn't allowed to debate or even take any questions. An appalling display by the school which is Catholic (Christian) & is therefore supposed to be sympathetic & fair to all. They sure weren't to me.

Christopher Plummer,

Rory

The Second Stain

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 142 Street Second Cup Courtesy Wifi, Edmonton, Alberta

April XIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph., D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

The IInd topic here today besides the slight change in borders Edmonton-Centre is gun control. With Edmonton Police Service officers here on break & customers discussing it, the topic is a bit more in play here as Edmonton-Centre includes much of the downtown core where crime & gun violence is quite bad at times. We could sure use Mister Sherlock Holmes talents in this "secondary circumstance" to help the guns & gangs unit. It's an ugly, dangerous business to be sure.

Lorne Greene,

Rory

P. S.: It should be noted that this riding is a mix of progressive/liberal leaning voters & business conservative types so it is more likely to have a bigger population in favor of gun control. Having run here one-quarter of a century ago in MMXX (2000) when Edmonton-West comprised much of downtown I truly comprehend the issue.

Dear Demetrios:

I just helped one of the neighbors in this area fill in a Special Ballot Application online as they'll be in Pennsylvania dealing with a relative's funeral & estate through the Advance Poll & Election Day. I myself am going to vote in the Advance Poll on Saturday, April XIXth, MMXXV so as to avoid ED lineups. People must choose the option that is right for them. I encourage folks to go to Www.Elections.Ca to learn more about various voting options.

The Straw Poll

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Clareview Public Library Terminal #VI, Edmonton, Alberta

April IXth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

Here in Clareview, library residents talking about being harassed not just outside the library here by teens &/or adults, but in other public places as well, as well as by their homes. It can be individuals, or groups such as in gangs. Sometimes they are robbed, even beaten, or killed. It happens anywhere & be quite pervasive. A lot of course can be explained down to illicit drugs such as cocaine & fentanyl being so readily available to feed their addictions. It really is an interesting perspective as a couple is Conservative supporting in the straw poll I asked them. The other two folks, both women back other candidates, one New Democratic, one Liberal.

Dear Demetrios:

According to the rather adroit Reportrix Miss Jen Hodgson of The Western Standard, People's Party Of Canada Leader Hon. Maxime Bernier, PC thinks we need to go back on "the gold standard" what with all these inflationary tariff pressures.

"The Bank Of Canada must start to buy gold as soon as possible."

Be Prepared To Adapt & Change

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., 15902-100A Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5P 0L8

April VIIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

I am surprised that folks are saying that Conservative Party Leader Hon. Pierre Poilievre, PC isn't able to adapt & to change his message & focus. I've seen some of his rallies & those of Liberal Party Leader Rt. Hon. Mark Carney, PC on television, the Poilievre rallies are far stronger in focus. Plus we have the situation here where Pierre & his team are adapting well to the unexpected change in rally location tonight from SE Edmonton to the Nisku Business Park. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
