Gubernatorial-Oregon

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

July XXIIIrd, MMXV

Hon. Dave Eggen, B. Ed., MLA, Minister of Education, New Democratic, Edmonton-Calder

Dear Dave:

Having just been sworn into office upon the resignation of her predecessor, Governor Kate Brown of Oregon is a great friend to the LGBTQ community in terms of establishing equality for residents of all orientations in her state as she is openly bisexual. Katie takes a look at the issue of capital punishment for inmates. While we no longer have it here in Canada, it is a very contentious issue in the United States, both in death penalty & non death penalty states, as well as world nations. It is studied by legal students in many law classes just as it is in the courts. How do you balance restorative rights of prisoners with the rights of the victims & such & how do you make the system of justice fair for all Oregonians?

"Their needs to be a broader discussion about fixing the system."

Salem,

Rory
