Meadows Public Library Terminal #XII
Edmonton, Alberta
December Xth, MMXIV
Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., MLA
Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow
Dear Gordon:
Here at the gorgeous Meadows Branch Edmonton Public Library (EPL) which has just recently opened up, it is very appropriate that the next parliamentarian we talk about at Executive Dissertations is the Hon. Mike Lake, PC, MP. Just as Linda Cook on down have done a brilliant job in building & truly making this lovely new branch a great place for the citizenry of Edmonton to be (when do they ever not do a brilliant job at EPL), Mike is a great dad to his son Jaden. Jaden has a lower functioning form of autism while I have Asperger's Syndrome, the "high functioning" format & I have mentioned that here before. So I get Jaden as I am a part of the Autism Spectrum myself.
Jaden has turned out to be quite the volunteer at EPL branches & in the library system. He is a young man of such great character that EPL is thinking of offering him a paid career. There is always a place for everyone & Jaden's place has been assured b/c of the great parenting of Mike, his lovely & charming bride Debi & sister Jenae. Here Mike talks to York University students about investing time & energy inII making sure kids with disabilities are seen as equals to those who have none!
"Everyday, you have 960 minutes of waking time to invest."
Number CLXI (161),
Rory
