I am glad that Mr. Poilievre will have this chance & that his opponents in the riding will have an = chance at winning with their competing messages.

It seems in the end the 3 byelections solved nothing. The New Democratic Party held onto their II Edmonton based seats, & your United Conservative Party kept their seat in Olds-Didbury-Three-Hills to replace now former MLA & Speaker Nate Cooper. Basically absolutely zero seats changed hands so zero numbers changed for the Assembly floor plan. A sign of a true political "stalemate."

I know voter turnout is lower in byelections, but I cannot help but hope that Edmonton-Strathcona, Edmonton-Ellerslie, & Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills have a higher voter turnout today. If folks don't think that "every vote counts", look no farther than Tatiana August, MP, Liberal, Terrebone. She only won her seat by 1 vote & that was only because a Bloc Quebecois voter had her mail in ballot returned & a tie would have resulted. All thanks to the idiocy of Elections Canada putting the wrong postal code on the return envelope!

Condolences all around to the families & friends of the II dead mountain climbing in our beautiful mountain parks. Yes rocks falling off the mountain is just natural, but I for one hope that the 3 new MLAs join their 84 sitting colleagues (86 after the October MMXXVII Alberta Regular Election for a total of 89) in trying to work with His Majesty's Federal Liberal Government in trying to come up with making them safer, both in provincial & federal zones wherever mountains are.

This is certainly not an issue that should be partisan. Perhaps a committee should be struck to ensure fairness & impartiality & have a member of His Majesty's Provincial New Democratic Loyal Official Opposition MLAs lead it as Chairperson like they do the His Majesty's Treasury Board & Finance Committee. Perhaps Sarah Elmeligi, B. Sc., M. Sc., Ph. D., MLA, New Democratic, Banff-Kananaskis with her background in wildlife ecology would be an ideal choice?!

As an aside we have Senator Karen Sorenson, Independent-Liberal, Alberta the former Banff Mayor in Ottawa. She'd be valuable if the committee proposed were made a joint provincial-federal venture, such as a task force!

Of course having Autism/Aspergers Syndrome, I truly appreciate the rainbow perspective & how LGBTQ groups are just trying to promote peace betwixt all people of all beliefs in the area.

Having proposed the idea of a Joint Premiers Office for Alberta/Saskatchewan Ist to Premier Donald Ross Getty, Progressive Conservative, Strathcona-West/Edmonton-Whitemud/Stettler personally when I did some minor data entry work for Alberta Agriculture through a part time position as hired by the Premier's Office, he said he would have officials look at it but then he stood down in favour of Premier Ralph Phillip Klein, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow. Later on, I proposed it to Premier Alison Merilla Redford, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow by mail & got a letter in The Edmonton Journal on the matter in addition to proposing it to Premier Rachel Anne Notley, New Democratic, Edmonton-Strathcona. The idea had been under consideration since Premier Edgar Peter Lougheed, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-West for the record!

So I am very glad to see the II Premiers meeting there in this great "border city." Putting a permanent Joint "Office Of The Premiers" there in a building owned by both governments on the border or a block or two inside either province would be wise. This will help with trade issues, cut red tape & let border issues such as emergencies like floods or fires be dealt with faster & therefore more efficiently!

Whomever the citizens of Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills choose as their next MLA, they must make sure that person is a big supporter of Olds College. From the smallest family farm, right up to big factory farms, & everywhere in between, O. C. has a variety of programs to get folks knowledgeable about all aspects of running a farm & farm life. Even with "urbanization", there will always be a need for farmers & their skill sets as not all farm jobs can be replaced by artificial intelligence. I for one hope they never are as farm folk are hard-working, industrious, & very positive people!

Out here in the campaign zone neighborhood of Bonnie Doon near Edmonton-Strathcona byelection area, I am actually in the neutral riding of Edmonton-Gold Bar that has sitting New Democratic MLA, Hon Marlin Schmidt, ECA. I do find it funny/ironic that radio host Benedict Mulroney is so positive in favour of Manitoba New Democratic Premier Hon. Wab Kinew, MLA, Fort Rouge, especially as his good dad the late great Rt. Hon. Martin Brian Mulroney, KC, PC was a Progressive Conservative. Also, the late former MLA Elijah Harper blocked D'accord du Lac Meech from passing with "unanimous consent" in the Manitoba Legislature, the very same chamber Premier Kinew operates out of. An odd thing to do as it was an excellent accord framework to finally get Quebec to sign The Constitution. But Mr. Harper was a New Democratic MLA then later Liberal MP so he I am sure was influenced by Pierre Trudeau who was also against Meech. 

Still I can see why Ben is so positive about Wab as the Premier wants to build up economic ties & fix/build stronger the Port of Churchill for closer economic ties with the rest of The Dominion Of Canada. Infrastructure & things like pipelines which can only serve the betterment of all taxpayers in every province & territory. The campaign to get this rolling out should be led by Wab & solid Manitoba citizens like ex-MB Premiers Garys et Deux (Filmon & Doer), 1 Conservative & 1 New Democrat for total transparency! I can definitely see Martin Brian backing Ben on this play from above as it is a project that puts Canada Ist! So good political instincts Ben!

Plus a very special belated Happy Birthday to Isabella Veronica (Ivy) Mulroney! She's doing a great job helping her mom & brothers produce her dad's show & keeping an eye on him! Her "Papa" Martin Brian would be ever so proud of her!

Unless of course if they are visiting or vacationing up here. So I am glad to hear ODTH radio ads on just southern Alberta radio stations.

Dear Demetrios:

If there was ever a reason to bring back Hon. Pierre Poilievre, PC to The House Of Commons, it clearly is the fact that he is doing the current occupant of the seat, Damien Kurek, MP, Conservative, Battle River-Crowfoot a favour in taking over after Damien's dad died. This will let Damien straighten out matters on his family's farm with that sad circumstance.

Secondly, Pierre calling the late Hon. Marc Garneau, PC "a great Canadian" (even though Monsieur Garneau was a Liberal MP in life) shows he can be statesmanlike like the Rt. Hon. Marc Carney, PC the Liberal Leader is seen as when he said "no games" in terms of getting Pierre back into the Commons quickly through the byelection process. Plus he has the parliamentary diction/dynamic down very well with VII past terms in office. Also mentioning that Monsieur Garneau was "proud to serve the country he loved" shows class, or bipartisanship, so rarified in political circles today.

A shoutout to Gord Johns, MP, New Democratic, Courtenay-Alberni for praising Mr. Kurek for putting his family farm Ist. That is certainly bipartisanship from the left which I give equal time to since I am writing on a politician from the right.

Note: I do believe that Pierre & Anaida should be paying a nominal $2,025.00 a month rent for their continued use of Stornoway back to April XXVIIIth the day he lost the election. I also feel they should be paying all utility costs until Pierre becomes an MP-Elect again. I say this & I am a Conservative Party Of Canada member so it's a bit risky for me but it's not unreasonable. The figure of course to match the current year I think the National Capital Commission would go along with this!
