The Last Thing We Need Is The National Energy Program Light

September XIIth, MMXII

Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O

Dear Jeff:

Why all the fuss over Monsieur Justin Trudeau, MP (Liberal, Papineau?) He's going II win the federal Liberal leadership in a landslide. Alas look back at an earlier Liberal coronation. I am not talking about Michael Ignatieff (the Alfred Apps Wondernuts), no, we must journey back further to Paul Martin's win. M. Martin (who like M. Trudeau) represented a Montreal area riding.

M. Martin won what 93% of the vote compared II the Steeltown Brass Taxer Sheila Copps with 7%. Just bover II.V (2.5) years later, Steve Harper was Prime Minister as M. Martin couldn't even hold together a minority, let alone a majority. Just as Grit operative Willam Wade Izzard says in regards to Dr. Raj Sherman, the Alberta Grit leader: "Paul Martin might have been a great Finance Minister, but he's not a leader, he's not even a follower."

As IV the Liberals, they should want a spirited race with many competitors, such as the race they held in MCMLXVIII (1968) when Pierre Trudeau won. M. Trudeau won because he faced one hell of a dogfight, an outright pitched battle. Thus the race attracted way more attention II the party & hardened Trudeau so he became an effective streetfighter in the federal election writ that followed.

If Justin Trudeau wants II bring the Liberals back from oblivion, I am all IV it (just not to power) just II act as a wedge II blockade the bastards in the NDP. M. Trudeau should hope that the leadership lasts several ballots, with an equal chance that he might win or lose at any time. If he takes the leadership in a cakewalk, the Grits (hopefully) will slide further over the crevasse as Justin will be seen as "anointed" rather than "elected" leader, as he'll be seen as willing II carry on his old man's agenda, which ravaged Western Canada, rather than moulding his party into the modern age with his own ideas of liberalism.

Bottom line you hand M. Trudeau the leader's chair without a fight, you'll just be bringing back Paul Martin, who couldn't win a majority if he tried, even with his Canada Steamship Lines billions.

I'm All IV Trudeau Just So I Can Flip Him The Bird From The Window of A Via Rail Train,

Rory
