Hon. Jeff Johnson, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Athabasca-Sturgeon-RedH2O
Dear Jeff:
Its a pity you weren't here at the Edmonton schools infrastructure announcement, but led by Minister of Infrastructure Hon. Wayne Drysdale, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Grande Prairie-Wapiti & the Premier, the Hon. Alison Redford, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow (who looked stunning in her dress) & a bevy of Edmonton area PC MLA's, the event was a huge success. They included the Hon. Dave Hancock, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud & the Minister of Human Services, Stephen Khan, MLA, Progressive Conservative, St. Albert, Matt Jeneroux, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Southwest, Dave Quest, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Strathcona-Sherwood Park, the Minister of Culture, the Hon. Heather Klimchuk, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Glenora (my MLA so she's my favourite), the Minister of Finance & President of the Treasury Board, the Hon. Doug Horner, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Spruce Grove-St. Albert, George Rogers, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Leduc-Beaumont, & my great friend Naresh Bhardwaj, MLA, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Ellerslie. School board trustees & civic administrators were also there, a truly welcoming atmosphere!
Beforehand, a class of Grade VI & Kindergarten school kids from the school were acting as buddies, with the older kids mentoring the Kindergarten kids. Thus the kids learn about being responsible for a youngster & the Kindergarten kids get youth aged heroes to look up to, admire, & respect. I sat in the school library beIV the announcement as they were read a story outloud by a school staffer. Then got encouraged to read it out loud themselves. So a trip to the library was both educational & fun for them!
