Dear Dave:
As we wring in October & Mayor Don Iveson is "suspending" his campaign due to the unfortunate incidents in Edmonton last night, Executive Dissertations "suspends" the campaign blog format & turns to its engineering skills & a look at famous "suspension" bridges in The Dominion Of Canada.
I. Pictured above is the Pierre Laporte Bridge in Canada in Quebec City. At 1,041 metres or 3,415 feet it is the longest span suspension bridge in the nation.
II. The Thousand Islands Suspension & Truss Bridge over the Saint Lawrence River is 8.5 miles or 13.7 kilometres in length.
III. The old Walterdale Bridge here in Edmonton is 214.2 metres in length or 703 feet.
"Captain On The Bridge",
Rory
