Dear David:

I was talking to some administrators and custodial staffers, as well as parents while campaigning by Lorelei Elementary School on CIIIrd (103rd) Street earlier today. They say that from the time the snow melts and the grass fields are in use, right up until the end of summer, there is an extreme concern about broken bottles and other glass products being stepped on by kids in the area. I think greater volunteer accountability needs to happen. We need II set up volunteer support groups of parents and family members to comb the fields at least once every IV to VI weeks and ensure there are no glass particulates on the ground. Thus ensuring maximum safety IV our students when they take take part in outdoor athletic endeavours. Ie: Baseball, soccer, track & field.

Regards,

Rory
