Dear Jeff:

While I certainly applaud Edmonton Public School Board (EPSB) Chairman Sarah Hoffman & the board's intiative in adding a high school student as a student trustee, I'd take it one step further. In order for this student trustee to be able truly be a democratic office holder, I propose that any high school student be able to run for the position & that they be voted in by all of the Edmonton Public High School students who choose to vote. Then students & student trustees learn about democracy & accountability & the voting process all at the same time.
