Dear Jeff:
All hail the new feature film: "The Amazing Spiderman." It explores the adventures of Peter Parker/Spiderman & Dr. Curtis Connors/The Lizard as they duke it out over the New York City skyline. With both men receiving their powers from scientific chemical formulas, Spiderman with a radioactive spider bite & The Lizard with a chemical compound, the film teaches the art of science & how exciting science can be. Peter Parker attends Midtown Science High School, a school with an emphasis on scientific discovery. The only person in the class with a higher average in science is Peter Parker's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy. By showing Gwen as a powerful scientific juggernaut, the film is showing that science & mathematical formulations can be exciting IV both boys & girls as they progress through their educational years & then subsequent career paths.
