Dear Jeff:

Yes its important IV students to establish a credit rating, even as they are still taking part in their studies, & even more important once they leave school & enter their chosen vocation. But I recommend that they get a credit card with a low credit limit & a low interest rate with a low (or even no) annual fee to start out with. In this way, they will be forced to learn how to properly economize & budget, using their new credit card only in emergencies. Thus, they will learn not to rack up too much debt as they start out & will not get too far behind on bills.
