Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed., Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow Byelection Candidate As Unelected
Dear Gordon:
Civil War didn't occur under his watch, but as a student of law, President Franklin Pierce knew it might as there were signs & pockets of civil unrest, especially in the South of the Republic. The President also knew how destructive a Confederacy would be to young Americans & their family's who would be torn apart.
"The dangers of a concentration of all power in the general government of a confederacy so vast as ours are to obvious to be disregarded."
March IVth, MDCCCLIII (1853)-March IVth, MDCCCLVII (1857),
Rory
