The Ewings: Father & Sons: Election Politics

October IIIrd, MMXXI

Hon. Adriana LaGrange, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Red Deer-North

Dear Adriana:

John Ross "Jock" Ewing Senior/The Ist tells his son J.R. to find dirt on their enemy Cliff Barnes in a tough Texas State Senate seat because he wants his family's power base/influence through the Ewing Oil Co. Ltd. to continue (sounds like Tom Olsen's War Room but competent.) Complicating matters is that his daughter-in-law Pamela is Cliff's sister, & she is married to his youngest son Robert James "Bobby" Ewing, so Jock has to be civil & put things in motion with J.R. quietly. Even odder is the fact that Little Brother Bobby is the "bagman" or collector of funds for the State Senate race for his dad's candidate but he knows his good wife has to support her brother Cliff.

"J.R., there's bound to be a body in that closet someplace: find it!"

They say everything is "cyclical" in electoral politics, such is life. Your Catholic & are most likely in favour of abortion restrictions Adriana. With Texas State abortion laws becoming restrictive again under Governor Greg Abbott, Republican: its appropriate we journey back in time to find out the dirt that John Ross "J.R." Ewing Junior/The IInd of Braddock County, Texas found out on Mister Barnes as per his father's instructions. He torpedoes Cliff's entire State Senate election because Cliff helped his fiance years earlier to get an abortion & she died during the procedure. This was when was when abortion was illegal years before the United States Supreme Court "Roe V. Wade" decision legalizing it was brought in. We get J.R. to explain all in a phone call with his Daddy!

"Daddy, Barnes just broke the cardinal rule of politics. Never get caught in bed with a live man or a dead woman!"

Note: This might seem cruel because a person's sexual choice is their own, man or woman. But at the time, it was somewhat acceptable, sadly even now a days it seems to be.

"You Live With Vipers: You Become A Viper!",

Rory
