Dear Demetrios:

On this Thanksgiving Sunday, I note the Muslim, Hindu, Coptic Christian, & Sikh men, plus those of other religions, & even women play dominoes here & other card/board games. With no fighting or malice at all. No religious backstabbing verbally or in reality, there are even two Jewish men here at a table this AM with four Muslim men. Total peace & harmony. The issue everyone here is that whilst police have made arrests in the extortion & arson & yes even murders here, both in established neighborhoods & on construction sites, these incidents continue to happen. Affecting the community spirit of the South Asian community. A very valuable immigrant community that has much to make Edmonton a great city for all. They want to know what the next council will do to improve things. A few have expressed disappointment in the current mayor, a south Edmonton resident. This explains why he wasn't elected under the Liberal banner in the last federal election a few months ago.
