March XIth, MMXI

Hon. David G. Hancock, QC, MLA
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud

Dear David:

Proving the old adage that you are in office until the day you die, even as an ex-Member of Parliament, The Honourable Jim S. Edwards at age LXXIV (74), the ex-PM Kim Campbell Cabinet Minister has decided II accept an appointment as Interim Chair of The Capital Region Board. Bully IV Jim I say. Broadcaster, educator, administrator. Same age as my esteemed father Joseph & yet both these old guys can show students of IIday a thing or II. My father is busy as ever with his charity work, busier than when he ran his furniture store. Meanwhile, Jim is busier than ever doing his board work & with his various philanthropic interests. Its really quite funny as Jim & my father are busier than I am.

But like the Right Honourable Sir John A. Macdonald (who died in office as PM at age LXXVI (76)), Jim & my father will just never, ever quit. They are an inspiration showing the students of today that just because something is old, you don't throw it away. Jim & I both asked all VI ex Canadian Prime Minister's a question during the University Of Alberta Conversations with PM's Series. He was erudite, well researched & knew his facts cold. Just like Jim, I had my questions ready in advance & edited smartly because thats what you do when you study, you prepare. This is why Jim is respected & the Capital Region Board was smart II appoint him starting on April Ist. The directors know that Jim will guide them with dignity & grace during this one year transitional period!

The Honourable The President Of The Treasury Board,

Rory
