Dear David:

Being a member of the Alberta Liberal Official Opposition Caucus has got to be a tough road to hoe. Liberal MLA Darshan Kang, the Transportation & Safety Critic IV the Grits asked questions IIday in the Question Period as to why students & youth age aged XVI (16) & under are not made II wear helmets while riding All Terrain Vehicles (ATV's.) This David is an excellent point & Darshan, a great immigrant Canadian of Sikh Heritage has it right on when he mentions that we mandate people wear seatbelts in cars. Then goes on to add why there can't be equal safety & protection laws IV ATV's. This makes sense, b/c in order IV the students & youth II learn properly & have a disciplined cognitive function while in school during their educational paths, their craniums & neurological command functions & thought processes must be protected.

ThereIV, I think it is absolutely the right thing IV Darshan II suggest an immediate law be put in place mandating helmets on ATV's IV all students & youth XVI & under. After all, we make them wear helmets in motorcycles & when they are riding in motorcycle side cars, so why the discrepancy? Also, are not ATV's classified as motor vehicles, they run on the same gasoline &/or diesel engines as conventional autos do they not?

Darshan Kang A Man With Head On Straight Thinking IV Students & Youth First,
Rory
