October IInd, MMXIV

Hon. Gordon Dirks, B. Ed., M. Ed.
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Calgary-Elbow Byelection Candidate As Unelected

Dear Gordon:

Lysane Blanchette-Lamothe, MP is raising a very good concern about the abuse (or at least potential abuse) that live-in caregivers face on a daily basis, especially or older or really decrepitly ill clients who may not know what they are doing. Lysane feels the Live-In Caregiver Program (LCP) needs to add extra protections so that these fine workers feel safe. Some of the caregivers are students in training to get inII the care industry so this MP is trying to keep future caregivers safe to.

"Throughout our consultations we have heard the LCP needs to be strengthened to protect live-in caregivers from potential abuse by employers."

Number XXXVII (37),

Rory
