I actually decided to go to see events at "The Next Panel" Townhall #II in South Edmonton last night, I got in on a cancelation & let me emphasize I followed all procedures in listening to staff & security as a late arrival where to sit! Whilst I agree the questions seemed rigged to please a more United Conservative friendly audience, it seemed a rather fair exercise as there was certainly a mix of forces both pro & con in favor/against (opposed) to the Panel even being struck. I admit it was well moderated by ex-Wildrose MLA Bruce McAllister (who from what I understand is doing a "bang-up" job running the Southern Alberta Office Of The Premier in Calgary from what countless folks tell me) & the panelists that Premier Smith chose seemed very well informed in advance making for a better discussion all around! It should be noted that whomever the next MP in Battle River-Crowfoot is, they'll undoubtedly have to sit on parliamentary panels on The Hill & civilian based panels in the riding. The Edmonton Hotel at 4520-76th Avenue NW sure has great meeting rooms & is a rather nice facility they were a superb host last night!
