August XXVth, MMXI

Hon. David G. Hancock, QC, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud

Dear David:

As you are aware, Wednesday brought the end of two different styles of leadership here in Alberta. Conservatives said goodbye to Premier Ed Stelmach with a thank you dinner. At the same time, New Democrats said thanks & praise II Jack Layton for his years of service. Praising him II the nines IV standing up IV Canada, even though it cost Jack his very life with his flare up of a new cancer.

Both men weren't the best of leaders or the very worst. The point is, both tried their best to make Canada a better plce to be in their own special way. Jack Layton was so respected that Prime Minister Steve Harper granted him a state funeral, despite him never having made it to office as a Cabinet Minister, let alone as Prime Minister.

Social Studies students remember, these two men thought of Canada first & themselves second. Completely selfless & respectable.

Good IV Humanity's Sake,

Rory
