Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud

Dear David:

Students who study Parliamentary democracy need to be aware of just how valuable the Canadian Senate & our Senators are. They act as an appointed chamber of sober second thought. Members of Parliament have to work with & compromise with Senators. Bills have to pass through both Houses of Parliament three times, as well as Senate & MP's committees & sub-committees. This is where bargains & compromises are then struck. This most certainly makes IV better & more responsive government IV the Dominion of Canada as a whole. Plus all sides, both left & right & those in the centre get a little bit of what they want passed. This of course leads to much better democracy & then future parliamentary leaders that come from those who are students now can learn fronm their predeccessors to make life better IV all.

In Sympathy With Olivia-Chow Layton & Family,

Rory
