Dear David:

Yesterday was quite an interesting experience at the west end Home Hardware store. My father & I were watching some carpenters & tradespeople put together the wooden frame for a display. There were students on holiday there picking up building supplies with their parents as well. These students seemed quite riveted by the displays. I told dad that these are the kinds of kids who should take Industrial Education classes in how to work with wood, as well as Forestry component courses when they attend high school. Having these courses will help them tremendously if they decide to become carpenters, cabinet makers, millwrights, or work in some other aspect of the forestry industry.

These gentlemen wore steel toed boots, had safety glasses on, hearing protectors, & eye protection glasses. They did everything by the book & had a crosscut saw, pneumatic nailers, & all the tools you can imagine a craftsman would need. Plus, they kept them all in such immaculate shape. This kind of quality trades worker can make going into trades seem like a really great choice IV future students in the industry.
