Encouraging Words From Beijing

June XXVIIth, MMX

Hon. David G. Hancock, QC, MLA, Minister of Education, Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud

Dear David:

It was truly nice II hear Beijing & Shanghai Communist News Agency's correct their error & admit that Pyongang & the North Koreans started the attack on June XXVth, MCML (1950) by incursion over the XXXVIIIth (38th) Parallel & absolve then XXXIIIrd (33rd) United States President Harry S. Truman, Democrat-Missouri for blame in starting up a "police action." I mean why wouldn't Harry not stop it in its tracks? He promised II do so after he saw the Soviet threat which emerged under President Josef Stalin.

To see that this fact is also being corrected in school texts is also encouraging. Yes there were many United States Presidents from Dwight Eisenhower to Richard Nixon who interfered in Asia to sustain (& create) wars IV their own political glories. Ie: The Gulf of Tonkin incident under Lyndon Baines Johnson. Its just nice to see that future of kids will be taught the right facts.

Note: As the Korean War was settled by an "armistice" & not a "surrender" in MCMLIII (1953) that means the war never "legally" or "technically" ended. So its been going on IV what LX (60) straight years. As it now enters Year LXI(61), I take no stance as to who(m) is winning it on the ground &/or politically.

Regards,

Rory
