The Left Hand Doesn't Know What The Right Hand Is Up To

Dear David:

Its so blatantly obvious that the teachers are overpaid & also get too much vacation time for the hours they put in. When the pension fund liability of 2 billion $ was paid off, the government should have insisted on a wage freeze for two years. Then they should have only agreed to at par or just below par wage increases. I work part time at much harder labour jobs then teachers and get a medical pension. But I fought going on it but was ordered on it. I haven't had an increase in two years. In fact, I can only earn $400.00 a month supplemental tax free & then after this I must hand back governments pension cash, 50 cents on the buck. I work and go hard & constantly get shafted by Alberta Seniors & Community Supports.

Seems II me the Alberta Teachers Association needs to clam up & be greatful. If they weren't so greedy, the School Boards wouldn't be in such a crisis that there are layoffs of teachers. Of course your chronic underfunding doesn't help either. There are billions in infrastructure needs & yet new schools are opening in the suburbs for rich kids. This of course is a the expense of the inner city kids who are losing their hot lunch programs as well, even through quality providers like E4C Church Corporation.

Quantitative,

Rory
