Dear David:

I must say its great to see Midget AAA coach Rick Swan get some recognition with his Knights of Columbus Award. As important as teaching is inside a classroom situation, I would argue coaching is just as important a concept. Coach Swan is teaching healthy bodies = healthy minds. He develops his young charges into potential National Hockey League stars and motivates them. This is definitely a form of positive teaching. Retired coach Billy Moores says that coach Swan is teaching "life skills." Things like perseverance and excellence. I couldn't agree more.

So David we must tell the kids to work hard, play hard and have fun and spirited competitions under the direction of coach Swan!

Stay In Shape,

Rory
