IAP2 Code Of Ethics

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Ward A, Edmonton Public School Trustee Candidate, #203, 8912-156 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5R 5Z2

June XXIIIrd, MMX

Hon. David G. Hancock, QC, MLA, Minister of Education, Progessive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud

Dear David:

I understand that there is an IAP2 Code of Ethics IV Sector Planning David. But why is the process even being gone through when Edmonton Public's entire administrative goal is to close schools, come hell or high water? Yes its partly due II mismanagement of facility's and not pumping cash in them IV repairs, ie: Eastwood School.

But its also due II the fact the whole process is rigged. If it weren't, why are there LXXVI
(76) schools on the MMX-MMXI tentative chopping block? This isn't ethics, its the J.R. Ewing style of looking ethical but being shady.

I. I see no respect IV communities. Respect means keeping the schools open, not shutting them down & forcing family's out. Seems like every Board of Trustees faces this. How?

II. There is no openness. The administration is only releasing information it feels is relevant II the public. You want transparency, release it all. What has the admin. department got to hide?

III. There is no public role definition. Members of the public are allowed II speak, but they are not allowed II make any of the decisions. Why?

Bless The Typewriter On This Day It Was Invented Still Better Then Any Computer,

Rory
