Hon. David G. Hancock, QC, MLA
Minister of Education,
Progressive Conservative, Edmonton-Whitemud

Dear David:

I realize that this is more the purvue of the Federal Aboriginal Affairs Minister Chuck Strahl, but according to the Edmonton Sun, aboriginal people will take XXVIII (28) to catch up to the standardized educational systems off reserves. This is not only racist and wrong, its quite frankly inhumane. Your work in the Northland District #LXI (#61) has been excellent, just as an aside.

Please see what you can do in tandem with Chuck and your colleagues across the country who hold aboriginal affairs & educational cabinet slots. These people have been treated disgracefully IV just II long. They are not by any means stupider or less intelligent because they are native. They just need a little extra push so they can given at least an equal opportunity II expand their educational horizons.

The red tape they face from Ottawa and the aboriginal affairs bureacracy is sickening. Scrap the Indian Act. Bring in rules so that aboriginal people's feel they are being treated the same & not like the underclass. Its time IV accountability & aboriginal transparency in learning David. Its time II help & not hinder these fine people.

Regards,

Rory
