Dear David:

Am I the only one in Alberta II see that its kind of ironic that schoolkids were sickened by nitrates in their water in a hamlet entitled "Fawcett?" I mean it is just so ludicrous that in this modern millennia we have such poor water issues. Kids need water II grow, family's need it to sustain themselves. We are not living in Haiti after all. Not that poor water is acceptable there either.

On my XIth (11th) birthday on November XIth, MCMLXXXV (1985), my family arranged IV me and my party guests to take a day trip II the E.L. Smith Water Treatment Plant on the SW outskirts of the City by then Mayor (the late & great) Laurence Decore as a special treat. Normally the public is not allowed in that facility on Stat Holidays and special calendar days, even days such as Rememberance Day.

The water filtration techniques were amazing then. I can't imagine how much they have advanced in the one-quarter of a century since I last was last standing in the plant. Maybe E.L. Smith facility staff can arrange IV a video on water safety II be made & distributed province wide. The video could include highlights on emergency filtration & desalinization techniques.
