Al-Thalatha Edmonton Mayoral-Paul Bakhmut

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

September XXXth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S. Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

On this Truth & Reconciliation Day, we have City Of Edmonton Mayoral Candidate Paul Bakhmut explaining how hard it is to get event permits for City facilities & the need to cut red tape in these matters to expedite permits to hold these events. After all, it is revenue in for taxpayers, I like Paul's thought process here.

"We need to make it easier to host events at City facilities & in City parks."

Move Freely In Edmonton,

Rory

Note 1: This writing is orange seems odd, but one time Wade Izzard mailed then MP Randy Boissonnault a letter he had written in orange pencil crayon.

Note 2: I was able to vote by Special Ballot yesterday no problem at Edmonton Elections staff were very helpful as I had trouble following the use of three ballots instead of one.

In The Campaign To Save CFL Football In Edmonton Had A Hero In Larry Thompson & His Good Wife Deb!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

September XXIXth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

In the campaign to save CFL Football here in Edmonton, there was no greater hero than Larry Thompson, who took the Edmonton Elks from "community" to "private" ownership & thus financial stability. Just the kind of quality person & campaigner this historic team needed in a crisis. To lose Larry after just over a year as owner at just 65 is very sad. Not only does it rob the Elks of their main anchor, his failed surgery robs him & his beautiful bride Deb of their retirement years & being able to enjoy & improve the Elks as a team together. I am so glad Deb is staying on the sole owner to keep Larry's dream of Grey Cups & future new team campaign glory's alive.

It Is Exactly What Larry Would Want Deb To Do!,

September XXIXth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

If assigned as a campaign volunteer at a polling station for Advance Poll Day &/or Election Day, at any writ, make sure to stand with your fellow volunteers to make sure that the ballot box is properly sealed at the start of each day. As well, make sure that ballot boxes that are full are properly taped shut & kept safe by the Returning Officer to ensure their proper transport to the Returning Office for Advance Polls which are counted there on Election Day. As well as regular Election Day ballot boxes which are of course to be counted on site where the voting was conducted.

Vote Integrity,

Rory

The Bastards In The Canada Post Unions!

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

September XXVIIIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

I've got zero sympathy for the bastards in the Canada Post Unions whatsoever. Now instead of being able to vote by mail before my foot surgery on October XXth, I have vote in person at the Advance Polls or on Election Day. Or, I'll have to go all the way into the Elections Returning Office to pick up my ballot package & either vote immediately, or take it home, fill in the papers, & then bring it all the way back to the Returning Office in a separate trip. My dad & I only check our mailboxes on Saturday mornings, he has Canpost community boxes & I live in an apartment. We've got 1 or 2 letters each in the last month. Its doesn't matter to me if say 75% of the Canpost delivery drivers are fired & the remainder are put on say just Tuesday-Thursday delivery. Thus giving them a 4 day weekend every week. Still paying them for stat holiday Mondays & Fridays of course, & holidays such as Remembrance Day that rotate throughout the week. No Canpost workers are an abomination, sending union dues to pro Palestinian & other terrorist groups to suit their leftie ideology! 1 of their delivery drivers told me it was also free to mail packages to MPs. I took his word for it, a week later the package I mailed was at my door & I had to pay $27.25 to mail it by UPS. No I hope these Canpost unions are busted, the sooner the better. When they went striking during the holidays they lost 95% of their remaining support, now they'll lose a lot more & deservedly so!

The Inconvenience of It All,

Rory

Newfoundlanders & Labradorians: High Tory

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #23, 9731-174 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5T 6G4

September XXVIIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

Newfies & Labradors need to know that Progressive Conservative Newfoundland & Labrador Party Leader & Leader Of His Majesty's Loyal Official Tory Opposition Tony Wakeham, Progressive Conservative, MHA Candidate, Stephenville-Port Au Port (who took over as Leader in MMXXIII) is on the case for helping workers to get full time jobs at home & pay less taxes so they can pay the bills for their other necessities & have a better life. Mr. Wakeham's party had 14 seats of 40 at dissolution.

"This is about giving these workers a break while doing the hard work of building up more long-term jobs here at home."

"Pass Me The Tequila Sheila!",

Rory

Mayors Galore-Sohi

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., #6, 14504-108 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1G8

September XXVIth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

XXXVIth Mayor Of Edmonton Hon. Amarjeet Sohi, PC has to be one o f the most useless people to ever hold the office. He is completely tone deaf, an utter deadbeat. He doesn't listen to citizens, just goes about wasting billions, raising taxes exponentially, as well as putting in infill & multi-family housing units that just destroy neighborhoods & bring crime & disorder with the riff raff moving in. It ruins his success story as wrongly accused political prisoner from India, bus driver, City Councilor, MP & Federal Cabinet Minister. With all that experience, Amarjeet should really better at his job. I believe he's the first since Mayor Vincent Dantzer to serve only 1 full term. But he quit City Council to run federally for the Liberal Party Of Canada. For full disclosure I ran as 1 of 32 candidates to replace Amarjeet to showcase my disgust at the $800,000.00 byelection cost. I came dead last but it was more of a protest against Amarjeet not completing his term. Then Amarjeet goes & runs for MP against whilst Mayor. He lost lucky for Edmontonians & so promised not to run for a second term as Mayor. These actions show me his lack of interest & lack of focus in his work.

61 Years Old & Still Has 31 Days More In The Office Of The Mayor Of The City Of Edmonton,

Rory

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

XXXVth Mayor of Edmonton Donald (Don) L. Iveson served two 4 year terms from MMXIII-MMXXI. Don won 62% of the vote for his first term & actually expanded his support to 74% for his second term, odd as politicians usually go down in voting numbers when they go for multiple terms, but Don was rather well liked, especially among younger voters on the progressive side he enjoyed engaging. Pus he had the name recognition from having served first as a City Councilor. Don served as an editor & newspaperman for various publications including The Gateway & The Canadian University Press, this allowed to meet folks & network. Don was in favour of property tax levels balancing out for all but he was quite big on spending, which can lead to more wastage. Don enjoys sailing especially at Lake Wabamun.

46 & Still Working Hard In The Environmental Sustainability Sector,

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

Having defeated Mayor Bill Smith, XXXIVth Mayor Of Edmonton Hon. Stephen Mandel, ECA went onto serve three 3 year terms himself from MMIV-MMXIII, equaling Bill's time in office. The last Mayor to have 3 year terms as The Municipal Act was changed to 4 year terms for the election of Stephen's successor Mayor Donald Iveson & all other municipal elected offices. Stephen also served as a Progressive Conservative MLA under the late Premier Jim Prentice & was Health Minister in cabinet even before becoming an MLA, an unusual circumstance. Later on, Stephen ran for Alberta Party Leader & won, but was unsuccessful getting back into the Legislative Assembly Bvilding. An educated person with degrees in science, & business administration, Stephen impressively also has a Master of Political Science Degree, very astute indeed. Stephen got the arena for The Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club built & put in improved standards for architecture & building processes for new buildings. He worked very hard with charity groups & social agencies to improve the lives of the less fortunate in Edmonton. Stephen gave out free Edmonton Public Library (EPL) memberships when the library turned 100. This was very helpful in getting folks who didn't have the annual fee equal access.

Rory J. Koopmans, B. Admin., Woodcroft Public Library Terminal #XIV, Edmonton, Alberta

September XXVth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

XXXIIIrd Mayor Of Edmonton William (Bill) Smith sure was a great booster for Edmonton in his three terms from MCMXCV-MMIV. A real go getter & a multiple Grey Cup Champion with The Edmonton Eskimos Football Club, as well as a CFL All-Star, Bill & his positivity were just the shot in the arm Edmonton needed & as a former Fountain Tire owner he has business acumen that helped in his job as Mayor.. The difference here is Bill went straight for Mayor, losing in his first bid to Mayor Jan Reimer & then winning in their rematch. Amazingly, he had no City Council experience, but that is what Edmontonians wanted, someone with fresh ideas & a clean slate to head their municipal government. "Booster Bill" brought us exciting sporting events, as well as The Juno Awards, an outstanding award ceremony each year.

Still Going at 91 & Chairman Of BioNeutra A Nutritional Supply Company & Other Companies,

September XXVth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D, ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

I always have like XXXIInd Mayor Of Edmonton Janice (Jan) Rhea Reimer. As I've said here before, my father & I bid on a luncheon with Her Worship at The Westin Restaurant & a tour of some City offices & how things work from administrative standpoints for charity. Another time, I was seated next to her at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, a hotel her predecessor Mayor Terry Cavanaugh was instrumental in preserving. She got curbside waste pickup put in place, making its pickup & separation from recycled good much more efficient. Also an Alderman beforehand, Jan is a solid performer & the first & only woman to be Mayor in Edmonton's history. She is also great at compassion for the downtrodden after having served ably as Executive Director of The Alberta Council Of Womens Shelters. It is appalling that we need such places in these modern times, but I cannot think of a better steward for the job than Jan was. Jan rightly criticized a sexual harassment settlement after a City employee resigned. She also cared very much for keeping the North Saskatchewan River & surrounding area safe so the water stayed potable. Overlooked is how important her work with The Alberta Council On Aging as seniors should be respected throughout their years.

Still Active & Serving In An Advisory Role To Her Successor At ACWS,

Rory

Mayors Galore-Cavanaugh: Part 2

September XXVth, MMXXV

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

Brought in for a Part 2 is XXIXth Mayor Of Edmonton Terence (Terry) James Cavanaugh. Again on an "interim" basis to fill the remainder of the term of Mayor Laurence Decore who went off to great success in Alberta Liberal provincial politics. I can remember getting to stand by Terry when he did the official ribbon cutting at The Dutch Canadian Club (which is located in The Peter Lougheed Multicultural Village by St. Albert Trail) for a windmill that had been installed. A man who enjoyed attending great cultural events & could say "vote for me" in what 15 languages, it was great to have Terry there as Mayor. Terry was just the perfect guy to have there on a reach out basis for whatever community situation he was thrown into. Twice being picked by colleagues to steer the ship showed just how respected he was. Advocating for the North Saskatchewan River Valley to be a park area showed how much Terry believed in conservation. After being defeated for Mayor by Jan Reimer, Terry contributed again greatly winning his old Council seat back three years later, a solid guy!

It Should Be Noted That I Took A Widow Friend Of Mayor & Mrs. Cavanaugh's To Mayor Cavanaugh's Funeral At St. Joseph's Basilica & Decided At The Last Minute To Stay Out Of Respect For Terry & June Cavanaugh Who Had Died The Year Before: The Lady I Drove Had A Ride Home: Glad I Did That,

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

XXIst Mayor Of Edmonton Laurence George Decore was a very respected lawyer & involved with many Ukrainian charitable groups due to his heritage. Laurence was a superb Alderman & worked hard on City committees/boards & at council meetings. He also was quite personable to people. I can remember him bringing Chinese takeout from The Lydo: "426-5050 if your hungry call the Lydo: free delivery" to volunteers at Edmonton Emergency Relief Services Society Building in that MCMLXXXVII Tornado & gave us a great pep talk! He told me he later went weeks without much sleep, understandable because in addition to the mayoral duties, he brought folks food to doorsteps & even told me he had taken a few citizens to doctors appointments. This command experience served him in good stead to becoming an Alberta Liberal MLA, Leader & Leader of Her Majesty's Loyal Official Alberta Liberal Opposition. That same year, Laurence was Mayor when Edmonton won both The Stanley & The Grey Cups. He was right, we were & are "The City Of Champions" & those signs should have never been removed from Edmonton's perimitted by the kooky leftie administrators at City Hall now, it's a disgrace to Laurence's legacy! Sad that cancer took this great leader so young!

59 Years & 131 Days,

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

XXXth Mayor Of Edmonton Cecil John Harry "Cec" Purves worked for The Dominion Bank (now known as Toronto Dominion (TD) Canada Trust) & brought those skills with finances to the table as an Alderman. Cec also worked for his family's business, Apex Auto Upholstering, before, during his time in office, & after. This gave him the practical "hands-on" experience in dealing with folks on a daily basis. A smart set of skills to have to being Mayor. A convert to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (The Mormons) through his marriage, he used his strong Christian values to run his administration & get things like the Edmonton Convention Centre built, as the Universiade Games of MCMLXXXIII to Edmonton. In a unique run for Mayor, Cec beat past Mayor Ivor Dent, sitting Mayor Terry Cavanaugh, & future Mayor Laurence "Larry" Decore. Cec got Kinsmen Field House built & got a debt repayment plan in place so his roadway & LRT projects would be partly paid for as they went, making things less stressful financially for taxpayers.

Cec Is Thankfully Still Alive & Kicking In His Xth Decade,

Rory

Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides, B. A., M. P. S., Ph. D., ECA, MLA, Minister of Education, United Conservative, Calgary-Bow

Dear Demetrios:

XXIXth Mayor Of Edmonton Terence (Terry) James Cavanaugh has the distinction of been made "interim" mayor twice, but twice failed to win a term of his own outright. Terry was a great guy, I assembled signs for him & did literature drops on both Alderman/Councilor as well as his IInd failed Mayoral run. Picked with respect to take over when Mayor Hawrelak died by his City Council colleagues, Terry ably steered the ship until the next Civic Election. Terry was a respected purchaser in the mining industry, & also worked for various charities, he really had a good heart. Off Council for 6 years, Terry's wife, Mrs. June Cavanaugh sat for a term on Council from MCMLXXX-MCMLXXXIII in his stead. I love her name as my moms you can imagine was Mrs. June C. Koopmans! Terry also taught communication courses at Victoria Composite High School, NAIT, & the U Of A! The first Edmonton-born Mayor, he really loved this city! Terry was a teammate of Gordie Howe in the Ontario Hockey Association!

91 Years & 151 Days,

Dear Demetrios:

Unique in Edmonton's electoral history, we have XXIVth Mayor Of Edmonton William Hawrelak back for a Part 3. The only Mayor to ever accomplish that & even with his corruption that I admit does have to be respected. William Hawrelak Park (formerly Mayfair Park) is named in his honour. William stacked City boards, let his property taxes fall into arrears, & appointed a disbarred lawyer as his personal assistant.

The Only Way For Mayor Hawrelak To Leave Power Without Controversy Was To Die In Office As He Did,

XXVIIIth Mayor Of Edmonton Ivor Graham Dent was the first to be elected to a 3 year term as The Municipal Act was changed to 3 year terms for Mayor, Alderman/Councillor, & Trustee. Currently it sits at 4 years. Ivor was instrumental in getting the Commonwealth Games here in MCMLXXVIII & have it all opened up by Her Dear Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth The IInd, just superb! XXVIIth Mayor Of Edmonton Vincent Martin Dantzer was selected to replace Mayor Hawrelak on an "interim" basis & he won his own term outright by defeating Hawrelak in a regular election. Then chose not to run alone for a second stand-alone term, just like current Mayor Amarjeet Sohi. As a lawyer & economist, Vincent brought experience as a Catholic School Board Trustee, Alderman, & then later as a British Columbia Progressive Conservative MP for Okanagan-North. He also served with honour in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
