VIIth Mayor Of Edmonton William Short has the distinction of also being the Ist Mayor Of The City Of Edmonton as the Town was "incorporated" on October Ist, MCMIV. William, a lawyer by trade brought his legalistic mind to author the City's Charter. Plus he made sure the railway made it over to the north side of the North Saskatchewan River, making the transport of people & consumer goods back & forth much easier for all citizens. His law firm Short & Cross still exists today as Duncan Craig LLP, a tribute to its founder, the late Mayor for sure. Plus William sat as a School Trustee to promote strong legal minds in the students of the future.
