XXVIIth Mayor Of Edmonton Vincent Martin Dantzer was selected to replace Mayor Hawrelak on an "interim" basis & he won his own term outright by defeating Hawrelak in a regular election. Then chose not to run alone for a second stand-alone term, just like current Mayor Amarjeet Sohi. As a lawyer & economist, Vincent brought experience as a Catholic School Board Trustee, Alderman, & then later as a British Columbia Progressive Conservative MP for Okanagan-North. He also served with honour in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
